Our School

At Scholar Green we pride ourselves at being in the centre of our community and feel very proud of our extensive grounds and outside space we have to explore. We are extremely lucky to have a large school field, a forest school including stream and viewing platform, two playgrounds, nature trail and a large EYFS outdoor area with canopy.

Inside, our classrooms are carefully planned, with the children, to ensure they enable and enhance their learning experiences. In the Early Years we aim to provide a balanced curriculum which is reflected in the environment. There are lots of opportunities for the children to explore open ended tasks in which they can demonstrate and develop key characteristics of effective learning.

We love to celebrate our children’s success and you will see this as you enter our school. Vibrant displays depict what are children are good at and what they see as being important to them. Please use this page to get an essence of what a school is like and how it used.

The Main Entrance

This is where you can gain access to the office. You have to press a button to be let in, that is how we keep you safe. When school starts in a morning, you will go to the classroom door.

The School Hall

This is where we hold assemblies, special events, PE sessions and have lunch in.

The Reception Classroom

The classroom is our base and where we all gather at the start of each session. There are lots of different activities available. It can often look different because it is planned around what you want to learn about and what you enjoy. We want you to feel happy and safe in the classroom.

The Cloakroom

The cloakroom is inside the classroom. It is where your peg will be and where you can go to the toilet and wash your hands.

The EYFS Outdoor Area

We use this area every day. It can often change depending on the season. There are lots of things to do, such as a mud kitchen, water play, grassed area, crates and wooden blocks for making dens and lots of different equipment to get us moving.

The Forest School

We complete lots of fun activities down in our forest school, from reading stories and making dens to looking for signs of spring and or traces of animals. We like to use or imaginations or enjoy the peace and quiet.
