Today we read one of Mrs Yarwood's absolute favourite stories and it turns out it is one of Year 1's favourite stories too... The Tiger Who Came to Tea by Judith Kerr.
We were really surprsied when there was a tiger at the door and we wondered if we would let him in... but he looked very friendly. We coudn't believe how much food one tiger could eat and left poor old mummy and Sophie without anything to eat. We thought the food they had at the cafe sounded yummy!
After we had read the story we decided which were the main events- the things that happened that made the story exciting. We thought about the begining,middle and end of the story. Mrs Yarwood couldn't believe what fabulous work we had done.
Tomorrow we are going to see if we can pretend to be one of the characters of the story. Look out for some hungry tigers, Scholar Green!
