Well we have been extremely busy in class Hedgehogs today. We have been getting used to sitting in our new maths makes sense places on the carpet, as well as remebering all the actions we learnt last week.
In Literacy, we learnt about different types of books; ones that tell us a story and have illustrations (we found out these were called fiction books) and books that give us information (these are called non-fiction books). Mrs Yarwood thought we were very grown up, learning the proper names for the books. After that, we sorted books in our reading area into fiction and non-fiction.
In the afternoon, we were using a non-fiction book to help us learn about who and what fire fighters are. We saw the books had some pictures with writing next to them- which we later found out were called labels. So we decided to make our own lables. This will help us in our Literacy sessions later in the week. We had fun dressing up and labelling our volunteer!
