Welcome to Scholar Green!

So, today was the day that our new Receptions joined us here at Scholar Green. They were phenomenal! The came into school for their first day so well. Mrs Yarwood was so proud of them because they were really brave and tried really hard to learn where all of their things had to go. The children had brought in some lovely chatterboxes, which we will look at throughout the week.

Once we had done the register the childrne lined up and went down for the first assembly and Mrs Colman could not believe how quickly and quietly the children walked down to the hall. They sat and listened very carefully to our assembly about being proud.

Afterwards, they went back to the classroom to have an explore. They found out their was a homecorner, a sand tray, play-doh, drawing, reading, cars and much, much more. Everybody played very nicely together and shared the toys well. The even did a great job when it was tidy up time.

We had lunch in the hall and the children learnt how to hold a try and collect their dinner from the kitchen. As they had been so busy in the morning they were all really hungry.

In the afternoon, we had a chance to meet the Year 6's and they will be a buddies whilst the children are in reception. We also sang some songs with Mrs Hamilton abd learnt how to greet each other.

So now we are all really tired after a busy day and I am sure the childrne will sleep very well tonight- resting ready to do it all over again tomorrow!
