Spectacular Space Week

Date: 17th Nov 2015 @ 3:33pm

This week at Scholar Green it has been Space week and we’ve had so many exciting things planned!

On Monday we had a Star Lab from Manchester Metropolitan University set up in the hall. It was a giant inflatable dome which we had to crawl inside. When we got inside it went all dark and then the moon appeared. We got to look at the moon and the stars and they floated around the dome. The children thought it was amazing and one child said it looked just like a cave.

Today we got to design and make rockets. We watched a video of a rocket being launched into space in America then we got to set off our own rockets! We learnt that our rockets were being set off using air and we got to click the button to shoot them off. It was so exciting! We have been practising counting down in Maths too so that helped us count down as our rockets blasted off.
