Listening Walks
In nursery we have have lots of opportunities to develop our listening skills and awareness of sounds in the environment. In phonics we have been learning to tune into sounds around us and listen for sounds in our environment.
Miss Mogford told us we were going on a listening walk and that we must listen very carefully to the sounds we can hear around us. We remembered to use our listening ears and be very quiet and still.
We heard lots of sounds on our listening walk. We heard trains, aeroplanes, bells, musical instruments, singing, birds tweeting, the wind howling, our noisy photocopier, people talking, balls bouncing, the year 6 lockers shutting, traffic and children playing outside. We were very good at recalling the sounds we had heard.
